Hard Mode wasn't implemented at all, much less half-ass. They put in this small reference to it purely in order to get us talking about it--it's not a "broken update". It doesn't break anyone's Protector Title, it doesn't hurt anyone, it's just there to make people go "well what's that going to be?"

well they just added lip sync to all th chapters, so it may have to do with the hard mode that will be added.
Im kinda hopeing that hard mode is new objectives for the old missions.

All I request is that the "Hard Mode" is actualy hard in a well thought out way
I belive in D2 they simply give boss a speed and status buff...and of course the color change that been use in countless game. Was kind of dispoint when I saw my friend used his 108 same old guide arrow and shot the hell diablo to his knee....but not like I am in anyplace to complain...I use iron maiden, bone wall, Revive(bring back enemy), and Blood golem(iron golem isnt for your everyday joe, and flame golem...I realy dont see the use when most foes resist fire) everywhere in that game.
I would appreciate it if the monster in hard mode out smart or out tactic us rather then the same old brutal strength.

Smart and tactics is something I seriously doubt. That would be overhaul of current AI. What's more likely is changing mob composition, with possibly a slightly augmented size. Maybe a much more effective skill set too.
I hope they don't just tag on a timer to the Proph missions and call it hard mode....

Yeah, if it's a mesmer boss. Lvl 60, imagine fast-casting? At least 3 spells per second at 1000 damage each. Sounds awesome, challenge please.

My vote goes for No Resurrections and slightly buffed bad guys. Well in the early missions I want enemies buffed to lvl24, but apart from that I think the rezzing ban would sink alot of groups.

My vote goes for scrapping the whole "Hard Mode" idea....
Thats what having the three ratings in the Elonian and Canthan missions was all about. So Prophecies was slightly different.... big deal.... It added something interesting and meant the mission didn't particularly need to be hurried through. Its an alternative approach.
Making a "hard mode" is only going to further deepen the divide between those who cruise through the game and those who struggle through it.... thus further increasing the abuse of those who can't by those who can... and likewise increasing the amount of spamming for particular items that effectively become an absolute necessity to do all there is to be done.
Thats what its about really.... Its just another thing to shove in peoples' faces. Guild Wars needs more NEW content rather than just making the old content upper-limits more annoying.
Besides.... we already know that A-Net's idea of "more difficult" typically equates to "higher-level monsters and more of them". Often enough the individual monsters aren't that tough to defeat... but its the fact that killing three or four of them is meaningless when you're fighting thirty to fourty.

My suggestion is to bring another tittle, and nerfing Kind of a Big Deal and People Know Me tittles (KoBD appears within max 10 tittles and PKM in 15 max tittles). Or create something better than PKM as "I'm the king of the world".
Those who have protector tittle will get a chance to have guardian too.
Just an idea...

I have no problems with the introduction of "hard mode"... but, some people have raised a good point about A-Net's habbit of moving on to new ideas and not completing old ones. Sort of like A-Net suffers from ADD or something.
The most noteable incomplete lately is the Sunspear Title. I honestly don't want to hear of anything new coming out of A-Net until they deliver on that promise. Everytime i hear about a new feature/title/format/anything, i think "There's yet another programmer who isn't working on solving the Sunspear Title problem."
Honestly, the game came out in October... We are now in February... Is this aspect of the game going to be finished before i reach retirement age? Not if the labour force at A-Net keeps getting diluted with cool new ideas. Please, A-Net, get into the habbit of finishing what you start.

This simple and rather sadistic idea occurred to me while chatting with a guildie earlier...suprised no one has brought it up yet.
We all know the various monsters in the missions have only one profession, for the most part. Well, perhaps in Hard Mode, they have a secondary...and the secondary is not set...it's random.
So you're doing the infusion mission (Iron Mines, I think). You're infused, but now you have to go kill Markis, the Ranger boss. Except he's not just a Ranger...he's a Ranger/Necro who uses Plague Touch. Or a Ranger/Monk who spams Healing Breeze on himself. You won't know for sure until the battle starts.
Would this make missions harder? You betcha. And it would certainly make them interesting.

following their pattern, this won't be any new content at all -- it'll just be changing some contrived aspect of what already exists, such as increasing monster level or adding an area effect, and trying to squeeze out some more life out of this tired theme, rather than truly adding more content
to me, 'hard mode' sounds like no new content at all
